Building Blocks

“This one hurt to make. The world is shifting again and suddenly I feel like that little girl in a home that preferred boys. The loud reminder that my opinion mattered less, my choices were limited and my punishments were harsher.

Suddenly the world feels like that home and I feel trapped.

The difference this time is that I’m not alone. We’ve found each other, the ones who were made to feel small. We celebrate each other and hold space for each other’s pain.

The world is changing and I don’t know what’s coming. But for the first time I don’t feel small.”
